Our Story

Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the GJRA Cowboys and Cowgirls and the future of rodeo!

The Georgia Junior Rodeo Association was organized in October of 1987. The first GJRA finals were held in October of 1988. GJRA is open to contestants of all ages until they graduate High School.

GJRA is a non-profit organization, therefore, all money will go toward making each rodeo a success, paying contestants award money and awards at our finals. It was organized with the goal of growing our contestants to reaching their individual rodeo goals. In 2022, a Buckaroo division was added to the GJRA, and it has opened the door for younger contestants to begin their rodeo journey.

Along with helping our contestants in their rodeo growth, we also hope to help them build a solid foundation of integrity and responsibility that will continue to help them throughout their life.
